Restoration and/or redevelopment of our diverse historic urban neighborhoods must include thoughtful quality landscapes. At no other time have we experienced the critical difference green space can provide to our children, families and neighborhoods. Stuck home for months now, the question shouldn’t be why to consider the residential landscape when taking on a redevelopment project, but how. Often a last minute fix for resale, the residential landscape installed on redevelopment properties is often unsustainable if not down right inappropriate. In this talk, we will explore why landscape matters socially and environmentally and why it makes economic sense for you the developer and the community your are working in. We will cover the benefits of trees, soils, native plants, health and safety, maintenance and play!
